Tiffany Hammond is an Autistic author, advocate, and mother of two.
She uses storytelling to amplify Autistic voices and reframe how the world understands disability, communication, and family. With her debut picture book A Day with No Words, Tiffany offers a window into the life she shares with her nonspeaking son, Aidan, and invites readers to rethink what it means to listen, to connect, and to love out loud.Tiffany’s work is deeply rooted in her experiences as a disabled Black woman raising two Autistic sons. When her oldest son, Aidan, was young, Tiffany began to document their life—not as inspiration, but as truth. The world often missed Aidan’s voice because he didn’t speak, but Tiffany saw it everywhere: in his movements, his eyes, his laughter, his silence.
Over the years, she’s become a storyteller not only for her children, but for families who live between the margins, for children who deserve to see themselves in books, and for anyone learning to unlearn. A Day With No Words is her love letter to all of them.
Tiffany is also the author of A Day With No Words, the forthcoming How Do You Spell Belong (2027), and other works that explore identity, race, disability, and joy.
